Here Comes (Lev Gleason's) Daredevil!

This is the longest story I have ever posted. 15 pages of Daredevil action from "Daredevil Comics # 48", cover-date May 1948.

"Daredevil Comics" is one of Lev Gleason Publications longer running titles, lasting from July 1941 until September 1956 (134 issues). Daredevil himself would only appear in issues 1-69, with his last two appearances in the book coming in issues 79 & 80 (October & November 1951).

Daredevil first appeared in "Silver Streak Comics 6-17" (September 1940-December 1941), giving the hero an overall run of about 11 years. Since then, a few companies have revived the character. If not the hero himself, then at least the name was revived by Marvel Comics. AC Comics revived the original Golden Age character and redubbed him "Reddevil", who has appeared in issues of Femforce from time to time. More recently, Dynamite Entertainment has taken the character and renamed him "The Death-Defying 'Devil", featuring him in their "Project Superpowers" series as well as giving him both a Free Comic Book Day adventure in 2008 and his own four-issue mini-series in 2008-2009. Erik Larsen has used the original character several times in recent issues of The Savage Dragon, simply calling the character "Daredevil" within the pages of the book. Not enough for ya? Then you might want to take a gander at http://www.drunkduck.com/Stunt_Double/, which features a hero that looks strikingly similar to DD.

By the way, before you start reading today's massive story ... I cut the "Days left to vote" on my poll by one month because I'm getting impatient and don't want to wait until 2010 to see what the verdict is. If you didn't vote yet, do it now because I could close the poll altogether at any second.
